How can we stay young and beautiful in an aging world??
Read along and find out, how to start aging gracefully in a "youth" super-charged world by renewing mind, body, and spirit through faith in God's word.

Embrace Beauty in Every Season: Why Renewal Matters
How to Renew the Body as We Age Gracefully: This of course is #1 on the list and it is no secret. We need to eat right, drink more water, exercise, and get plenty of rest. We have heard these phrases repeatedly and most of us could recite them in a split second. But, the truth is:
you are what you eat
rest to be your best
the greatest wealth is health
it never gets easier, you just get stronger
Simple Wellness Changes that Can be Started Today
If we want to age gracefully there is never a better time to start than right now. Get up, and go to the gym, or put on an aerobics video. Better yet, take advantage of technology—instead of sitting on the couch, scrolling through YouTube or Instagram, subscribe to one of the fitness apps or channels that are available and get the body moving! Motivation is the first step to looking and feeling good in every season of life!
Renew Mind and Spirit Through Faith: Here is something to think about—we need to cleanse our spirits just like we cleanse our physical bodies.
Negative Thoughts Can Age Us
We pick up all sorts of "icky" stuff during the day. Bad vibes from this person or nasty gossip from another person. Even our own thoughts can brew a sense of discontentment with life. All of this negativity can age the body prematurely; producing insomnia, and even causing free radicals to ruin precious antioxidants—let alone raise cortisol levels—which prevents weight loss!
Renew the Mind Through Cleansing
This is why we must cleanse the mind and spirit with the Word of God on a daily basis. God's Word acts like water, washing away spiritual dirt, doubt, guilt, and bitterness, similar to how physical water cleanses the body.
The Power of God's Word in Every Season:
Read God's promises: allow Scripture to become a pattern for thoughts and actions.
Meditate on God's promises: allow the Word of God to saturate the mind and break through troubling thoughts.
Speak God's promises: Rehearse God's promises over every day situations, and recite Scripture over family members. This will actively wash away doubt.
The spiritual washing of the Word of God will change thoughts and attitudes, and will replace negativity with God's truth and promises.
Apply these practices today to embrace beauty in every season!
Find Peace and Rest in a Busy World: While an incredibly active person can still value time alone with activities like, prayer, meditation, walking, reading, or enjoying hobbies, etc. It is important to allow oneself to sit still and free the mind of "inner chatter." The constant flow of thoughts, worries, and concerns can cause anxiety and fretfulness.
Why Stillness Is Essential for Spiritual Renewal
There is a reason why Scripture says to, "Be still and know that I am God." We will hear the voice of God better and begin to understand ourself better, too! Tuning into God's spirit while remaining still will bring a sense of calmness and direction to inner thoughts, desires, and intentions, which will reproduce an ageless beauty of confidence and composure in every season of life.
How to Accept Your Age With Grace and Confidence: Accepting our age, and season of life, comes with maturity. There is nothing more radiantly beautiful than a woman who has embraced her season of life with grace and dignity.
Embrace Each Season of Life With Gratitude
Embrace gray hair if it starts to grow! It means you are alive and experiencing life too is fullest. Let it grow out, or dye it, but be sure not to complain about it 👍
Embrace your empty nest if this what you are facing. Redecorate a room, or host more parties, but let's not be depressed about it. So many women wish they had an empty nest but their grown children haven't moved out yet. Rejoice in this season of life 🩷and focus on spiritual renewal.
Embrace perimenopause - ugh! (I'm speaking to myself here. ) For centuries, women and men have died before they were able to reach middle age. We are fortunate to live in a day when a long life can be enjoyed. Perimenopause is wearisome but it only lasts for a season. (Thank goodness!)
Embrace makeup - please! There are so many products available for aging skin. (This glow cream is one of my favorites. It's a must-try!) Sometimes this tinted glow cream and mascara is all I need! Putting on makeup renews the look of skin and beauty and can do wonders to self-esteem.
And one more rant: embrace your wrinkles! Apart from buying every anti-aging cream in the world, there is nothing we can do to stop the aging process. Try face yoga, massages, microsculpting creams, or facial handheld vibrating tools. These items have done wonders for me!
In the end, all that matters is that we smile, love life, embrace our age, and do it gracefully.
Embrace Your Season of Life: 5 Tips for Bringing Forth Much Fruit in Your Season
Keep a Youthful Spirit Alive at Any Age: Have you heard this quote before? "You are only as young as you feel." Revive a playful spirit and let a zest for life shine through. We only have one life. Maintain an attitude that is optimistic, energetic, and adventuresome. When I was a young girl, I remember my 70 year old grandma joining me in doing cartwheels in our backyard—I was so impressed with her agility! Perhaps a cartwheel is out of the question for you, but there are other ways to stay young. Here are a few:
Simple Ways to Stay Playful and Young-at-Heart in Every Season
refresh your wardrobe
plan a trip to a local town you haven't visited before
visit a new coffee house
when was the last time you visited your local library?
try a new recipe
go to a free concert in town
go to a free lecture
volunteer for something
take a walk at a new park
pack a picnic lunch
go thrifting
try a new haircut
learn something new
Redefining Beauty as We Age
As we age, our metabolism changes, and our bodies take on different shapes. We can prevent some of those changes through healthy eating, staying active, and watching our weight, but at some point we must embrace the inevitable and do all that we can to face the future with grace and beauty.
What True Beauty Looks Like in Every Season
We can adapt to a new definition of what "beautiful" should look like in all the stages of our life. For example, I look completely different than I did at the age of sixteen. Thank the Lord I didn't stay the same. Life would be so boring if there weren't any changes! I love the way I look now—my smile lines and gray hair tell a story of living a happy, full life!
My Personal Journey: Embracing Beauty at 50
Aging gracefully is definitely a challenge, especially with our youth-oriented social culture. Don't fall into this trap! Stay alert and on top of your game. Do what it takes to stay healthy and happy. If peace of mind comes by the name of an Oil of Olay product, then by all means, by a cart full, and embrace soft, silky skin.
I turned 50 in 2025, and I get a mixed response when I share this fact with anyone. Most people are in complete shock because they say I look like I am 30 years old, (God bless their little hearts!) while others nod and approve of me being fifty.
My feeble attempts at staying youthful started years ago. I've been an active person, and make a point to take walks when the weather is nice, but when the winter months hit, I go to the gym.
We have a Planet Fitness in our city and my husband I, not only use the facilities for working out, but we also utilize the tanning beds. The warm glow we gain adds a touch of sunshine to our skin. Couple that with the endorphins we get from our workout—and we feel on top of the world after a workout!
My Beauty Routine
Many people ask me what I put on my face to keep it looking so young. I laugh, because it isn't anything fancy, but I've been doing it since I was 19 years old.
Simple Skincare Habits for Aging Skin
I rinse my makeup off EVERY night and apply Oil of Olay Regenerist lotion to my face and neck. AND, I don't use any potent makeup removers, just coconut oil. When I do apply my makeup, I am careful not to rub heavily around my eye area. (A big thank you to my Mark Kay consultant for this tip I received in 1994. 😊)
These are good practices for me to keep, however, I believe, the number one reason why my skin looks healthy and I appear young, is that I read and mediate on the Word of God daily. Through this activity, I cleanse myself of any bitter, unforgiving thoughts I might be harboring, and at the same time, I'm filled with God's light.
There is nothing special about my skin. The glow it reveals is from the spirit of God.
Begin afresh today. Get motivated to enter into every phase of life with grace, beauty, and dignity.
Renew Mind, Body, & Spirit in Every Season of Life
One more thought: gift yourself some time alone. Read, pray, and mediate on good things. Be thankful for your age, and for whatever situation you find yourself in today. This will truly make you beautiful in God's eyes. Put your trust in the Lord. Trust me. You will find balance in your approach to aging gracefully. Remember, I'm 50 now, so I have some authority on this subject 😊God bless!
A Prayer for You
Father in heaven,
We come before you today with a grateful heart. Thank you for our time on earth. Help us to be good stewards of our bodies by being mindful of our emotional and spiritual being. Help us maintain health in every season as we age.
Give us a sense of your holy purposes and divine revelation of what you deem as beautiful. Birth in us a desire to be healthy and fit for the work you have planned for us. Help us to be strong and capable to accomplish all of your will.
Scripture reveals to us that the condition of our heart is so important. Help us develop more awareness of this fact as we age.
May our lives be truly beautiful to you in every way, and may we glorify you in all we do.
In your precious name,
Amen.
