Seeking God's Light and Direction in Every Aspect of Life
My Sun & Shade Ministries seeks to encourage and equip Christian women to seek God first in all that they do. Our mission is to help women connect with God in a real and personal way, by reminding them that He is the source of all their strength and joy.
We offer a wide range of spiritual resources to help believers grow in their faith and equip them with the tools and knowledge they need to develop their relationship with God. Through our blog, podcast, and prayers, we strive to help individuals find peace and strength in the Lord.
If you have any questions whether we should seek God first before doing anything, saying anything, or going anywhere, I have listed 5 reasons we NEED to seek God first and you can read them below.
1.Seeking God First to Find the Joy in Every Season of Life.
Hebrews Chapter 4 states, that we should ALWAYS feel welcome to go boldly to our Lord, the Great High Priest who has passed into the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, and ask Him for help in our time of need because He wants to help us by giving us grace to face all of our difficulties.
2. Seeking God First to Understand How Much He Cares.
Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you, (1 Peter 5:7 KJV). I understand that God has ultimate control and authority over all life and if He allows me to experience joy or hardship, then it must be for my good somehow, someway. For I know that all things work together for those who love God and are called according to His purposes, (Romans 8:28 KJV).
3. Seeking God First to Have a Deeper Knowledge Of His Ways.
It is so hard sometimes to wait patiently for answers to prayer when nothing seems to be happening, but, often times, the Lord is working behind the scenes in our own heart while He is working to bring about the answers to our prayers.
4. Seeking God First to Learn the Importance of Trusting Him.
We have to trust the Lord cares about our needs, worries, and questions concerning matters of life. We must choose to trust and wait for Him to move on our behalf in each situation that comes along.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your step, (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV).
It is hard to understand why we must face certain trials of faith, but if we acknowledge Him at the beginning of each day, He will direct our steps. And remember, sometimes the answers to our prayers take a long time, but faith must have its work within our hearts while we wait. Let patience have its perfect work, (James 1:4)
5. Seeking God First to Receive "All these Things."
When we choose to ask our Great High Priest in heaven for help and believe He can help us, we will receive an abundance of grace and strength from above. One very hard habit to break, is searching online for immediate help and assistance. This causes stress and we often become frustrated. Instead, choose to go to the Lord with your issues, believe He can help you, then trust in Him with your whole heart. Peace will fill your innermost being. Choose to become the woman that God has ordained by committing your problems to Him and waiting on Him to move in your behalf. Then, let patience have its perfect work.
We are always looking for quick fixes and fast answers to avoid becoming disciplined in our heart and soul. Avoid getting into this rut as much as possible and stop searching online for quick answers. Go to the Lord first and see if He might bless you for doing so.
