Elevate Your Thinking and Lift Your Spirit: 3 Ways

How to lift your mood and elevate your thoughts

Welcome to The Read-Pray-Sing Blog! I'm so glad you joined me in my latest reverie. My name is Angie, and I'm the Founder of this ministry to women, children, marriages, and families. My heart would burst if I didn't have a platform to share my faith, and I'm so thankful the Lord provided this website for me to do so. Read more about this ministry HERE.

Inside this Blog Post:

The Christian journey is all about going higher, so don't get "stuck in the mud" on your way, or you won't reach your potential!

A sure way to lift your mood and broaden your perspective is to elevate your spirit with the Word of God.

Elevate: To improve morally, intellectually, or culturally.

Ask the Lord to "open the eyes of your heart" to see yourself as you truly are, so adjustments can be made to your heart's attitude and you can receive blessings from this blog post!

#1 Lift Yourself Out of the Dumps

When it was time for the Children of Israel to go into the Promise Land after 40 years of wondering in the wilderness, God said, "You have been around this mountain long enough! Pack up your stuff and get going!"

Well, it may be that YOU have been around the same "mountain" in your life, and God is telling YOU it is time to move on!

Some people struggle with disappointment, depression, loneliness, heartache, or physical illnesses, and those things are very real, and allowed by God, but they were never meant to drag you down, but only meant to bring you higher.

Higher: exalted or elevated in character: noble

The Lord has an "expected end" for you --His hope is that you make it to the finish line --To hit the mark of the highest calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

He wants you to fulfill every one of the purposes He has planned for you, since the beginning of time.

Having this "expected end" in front of you, means, you are pressing on towards something, not standing still, or getting "stuck in the mud" along the way.

Stuck-in-the-mud: The inability to complete a task due to a lack of understanding, competence, or will.

Stuck-in-the-mud: Stuck, (unable to move), in a not-so-nice place (the mud).

#2 Conquer the Enemy of Your Soul

Satan, is the enemy of your soul and is very active. The Word of God tells us that he is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

Stop being oblivious to this! He is trying to destroy you. His tactics are very wily and cunning. He is making every effort to destroy your faith and distract you from fulfilling God's call on your life.

Oblivious: Lacking active conscious knowledge or awareness of something.

Psalms 68:1-5

Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Raise up the banner of the Lord in your heart as soon as you sense the enemy of your soul trying to gain ground in your life.

Declare God's word over your home and over your life. For God's word goes forth and does not return void.

Let God arise within you and let the enemy of your soul be conquered through the saving grace of God.

Cry out for deliverance from depression, and hopelessness and renew your hope in the Living God who has "an expected end" for you!

  • to gain victory over

  • to defeat

  • to overcome

  • to subdue and vanquish

Deliverance: the act of delivering someone or something: the state of being delivered.

#3 Elevate Your Thinking

When the enemy comes into your soul like a flood, he means death and destruction. You must gird up the loins of your mind and start thinking on a higher level to avoid the onslaughts of the enemy.

You can build a hedge of protection around your mind with spiritual gates to help you filter out "destructive" thoughts that try to enter in.

These "spiritual gates" that will help you filter out undesirable thoughts are found in Philippians 4:8-9, read below:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

The only way for you to "unstick" yourself out of the miry clay, defeat the enemy, and live a life full of God's peace is by filtering the thoughts that enter your mind.

Don't let them hold you back any longer!

Do yourself a big favor, and begin right now. Elevate your thought process and try this filter system out using a negative thought you have been entertaining about someone. Maybe this thought has reeked havoc in your spirit and you desperately want it resolved.

First, ask the Lord to help you see the situation through HIS EYES, then, consider:

What is TRUE about this person: God loves them too.

What is HONEST about this person: They are human.

What is JUST about this person: Humans make mistakes.

Do you see where I am going with this? Of course, your answers or topics can be more specific.

The Lord wants you to elevate your thinking so it will take you higher, not further into the depths of despair.

And this is the way to do it!

Ephesians 3:20-21

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.

Let's Pray Together

Heavenly Father,

We come to You right now, as the Author and Finisher of our life. You know us through and through, and you know where we've been and where we are going. Please help us chose the best path for our life. Release us from spiritual bondages, and deliver us from the evil that tries to overtake us.

Keep us according to your Word that works in us. Allow Your Spirit to guide us in life. Bring us further into y

As we lift our vision higher, and look to You for answers, give us specific keys for our situation and set our feet upon the Rock. Place within our heart a new song, and renew a right spirit within us.

Bless the woman reading this prayer right now. May she feel Your presence near her. Fill her with Your spirit as she opens her heart to You, and give her grace to apply these truths to her life.

In Your Precious Name,

Blessings ~
