I've never regretted giving up my spare time to minister at the church. After 20+ years of playing the piano at church services, I still feel an awe and respect for that duty. The same goes for teaching Sunday School. After 20+ years, I still feel the heavy weight of responsibility and honor that comes with teaching little ones. I've probably put in 100's and 100's of hours preparing, practicing, setting up, and ministering at my local church. But, I know it has not gone unnoticed.
The faith in my heart recognizes the eternal reward of sacrificing the things I want to do with the various jobs and responsibilities I do for the Lord and His house. May we all find joy in volunteering at our local church --in whatever capacity and gifting the Lord has given to us, and do everything in love, in honor of God and others.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, or a teacher. It is our God-given responsibility to train and teach the children under our care about God and his ways.
